Finding Fractions - Maths

This week I have been focusing on finding a fraction out of a whole number for example 1/4 of 81. It may look hard but in reality it is extremely easy all you need to know are your time tables.

Lets figure out 1/3 of 15 you might know this already but for people who don't know this is how you work it out.
First you need to get the denominator and multiply it by the whole number ( 3 x ? = 15 )
Then you need to look at the 3x tables and find what equals 15, 3 threes equal 15. So your answer for 1/3 of 15 is 3! Easy right now go and have a try yourself.

Yurtle The Turtle

Before we got Yurtle we had two frogs called Yoda and Belle, we decided that the frogs got boring and Mrs Mitchell had a turtle. We had to persuade her into giving us the turtle for the frogs this is my letter to Mrs Mitchell.

Dear Mrs Mitchell

I am here to tell you the benefits of having frogs instead of turtles. I have a lot of reasons but I will only inform you of a couple. The first reason is they help you with life cycle of frogs and help kids learn more about them to help make their brain grow, kids love bugs! You might not think that bugs are cool but kids sure do and it could help their guys attitude in class, they are cute, they are very easy to look after they don’t need a lot of attention all you need to do pretty much is feed them and lastly frogs are in a lot of little kids story books so the kids will love them!

Yours Sincerely,

Measuring and Drawing Angles - Geometry

This week I learnt how to measure angles with protractor. At the start it was difficult but once you get the hand of it you go along with the flow. I will tell you how to measure a angle.

First off, angles.

This angle = 90°
Right Angle

This angle measures less than 90°
Acute Angles

Measures more than 90°
Obtuse Angle

Exact 180°
Straight Angle

Now lets measure a angles;

Thank you for visiting my blog, hopefully this helped your. Please comment your feedback on my work :)

Volume - Maths W7 T2

Today I will be explaining how to measure 1D shapes and 2D shapes. Also the unit because units are very important when you are measuring shapes.

This is a very short DLO but I didn't have that much time to film if and get it uploaded, I'm sorry for that next week will be better. Hope you learnt something like how to measure a 3D shape and what

Dream House DLO - Maths

This week in maths Whaea gave us a fun little task to do. Create our own dreamhouse, we had to create our dream house and measure each square as 1 metre. This is my finished dream house.

We had to measure the squares as 1 metre. In the photo above we had to write the measurement as m2, but with the 2 above the m.

It was really fun creating this dream house and it was really interesting learning about how to measure the perimeter. Thank you for visiting my blog.

Astronomy Inquiry

What are the conditions on earth that make it suitable for humans to live on, and where else could we live? This was my inquiry question I answered this question with Lyan and Mikayla. Hope you enjoy my journey of answering this question and finding out more about astronomy.

This was our experiment/demonstration we made a rocket ship that could travel people to the moon that we found.

Thank you for visiting my blog I hoped you enjoyed

Pascal's Triangle - Chloe

This week for maths one of our tasks were the amazing pascal's triangle. I will tell you some of the patterns I found, hope you enjoy.

Down both sides the numbers are just one.
Going through/along the middle you can see one number will go up 1 every time.
Each line is multiplying by 2.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
