Chocolate Chip Cookies
This week in home economics we made chocolate chip cookies, here is the process and ingredients.
Ingredients:
- 100 g butter
- 1/2 c chelsea white sugar
- 1/2 c chelsea soft brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 1/2 c flour
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 c chocolate chips
We made 12 cookies instead of 15 as the recipe said.
Method:
1 - Preheat oven to 180 degree.
2 - Melt butter and add both sugars then cream together in a bowl.
3 - Beat in eggs and vanilla essence.
4 - Mix in the dry ingredients along with the chocolate chips.
5 - Roll into medium sized balls (make sure the mixture is not too wet)
6 - Put on the prepared baking tray and flatten slightly with a fork.
7 - Place in the oven and cook for 8-10 minutes.
Instead of melting the butter to liquid it is better to soften so you can cream the butter with the sugars properly.
My groups cookies turned out very good, the size was perfect and they all looked even. They tasted amazing but I think we should've cooked them for a couple more minutes because the inside tasted a bit raw but still enjoyable.
Here are some photos of the process and the finished product.
Great to see that you have included the recipe for these delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies. The photos are clear and relevant. I am interested to read that you felt your Cookies were slightly under-cooked. Remember it is very important to preheat the oven to the correct temperature before putting the Cookies in to bake. Also eating Cookies while they are still very warm from the oven can affect the taste and texture of the product.
