Working from home - P.E

The sport that I chose is Netball, I play for Hornby Netball Club and it is one of my favourite sports to play. I think I play it best out of all the sports I play too.

Where did it originate?
Netball originated in England. It was first played in 1895 at Madame Ostenburg's College. The popularity of the sport continued to grow and now the game is played in many British Commonwealth countries.

Famous players (what makes them famous)?

A few famous netball players are:

- Laura Geitz, Australia/Queensland Firebirds
In the 2013 ANZ final the performance shows Laura's determination and her ability to constantly improve and adapt her game. She is one of the few defenders that can play a rugged one on one defence and pull out spectacular intercepts at the same time.

- Irene van Dyk, New Zealand/Central Pulse
Although Irene has retired from netball she is still the silver ferns best goaling option by a long shot. Her timing on the baseline and flawless scoring under the post makes her one of the best players in the world.

- Jhaniele Fowler, Jamacia/Southern Steel
It is next to impossible to beat a team with Fowler on it. She dominated 2013 ANZ Championships, has a great height advantage over her opponents but has strong hands and great elevation.

- Laura Langman, New Zealand, Northen Mystics
She was said to be the most consistent international player. Her fearless drives on attack and ability to hit the top of the circle at speed is a marvel, her ability to wear an opponent down by running with them all day is a huge asset on defence.

Changes through out time.

RulesThe changes announced by the International Netball Federation which come into effect at all levels in January outlaw basketball-style injury time outs, eliminate unnecessary whistle-blowing, allow players to take a penalty without waiting for the offender to be out of play and let centre players have just one foot, not two, grounded in the centre circle, before a centre pass. The other major change sees the spectacular defensive lift effectively banned much to the dismay of defenders.

Equipment: The ball obviously improved with time, the ball got grip and it came in different sizes.
How has technological advancements changed netball???? - Home

Today for a practical task I went outside and did exercise and practise my netball and basketball shots. I also go for 10-14k runs with my dad every other day or when days are nice and we aren't sore.
