Bonus Activity: Waka Ama

Waka Ama -

I would like to try it I didn't see any girls but if they were allowed I would try. It looks very tiring but also very fun, so I would give it a go but I would have to choose a lot of friends

Week One: In the Beginning (1800-1870) Activity 2: Setting Sail

My letter to my whanau -

To Dad, Mum, Devon and Blake.
I'm on this waka the ear swelling cold is making me shiver which makes the waka sway a lot. I can't wait to get to Aotearoa and explore the new massive island. I wonder who else is going to be there? It rained last night and all I could do was sit there and stay still. I like the days when it's hot and you can move around in the waka and not be freezing cold.

I will try write another letter to you soon.

- Chloe

Week One: In the Beginning (1800-1870) Day 1: Arriving in New Zealand…

Maui -
* He has 3 older brothers.
* His brothers wouldn't let him go fishing with them but he soon became the best fisher out of them all.
* Maui is actually an island in Hawaii.

This fishing story is not the only story I've heard of, if you have watched Moana then you know there is a character called Maui who is inspired by him and he has the hook. The same one that Maui used to catch the fish. Also the sign for the Uru Manuka cluster has a hook in it.

Passion Project - Horse Riding

Over the past term in Kahikatea we have all been focusing on passion projects. We basically had to represent our favorite hobby or something we like. I chose horse riding and this is my presentation, Enjoy :)
